I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota V6 4×4 auto ext cab with a blown (yes I really mean BLOWN) up transfer case. I just had the ****** rebuilt to the tune of 1,300. However the ****** wasn't the cause of the detonation. It was my fault for not changing the universal joint immediately (it completely blew apart on thur and I was going to change it on sat) just my luck LOL. Anyway, the circular tag on the rear of the case reads MOPAR P/N R2105364 S/N JDAW00120 Build Date 0740207. Is this the NP242 that can also be used on Grand Cherokees (ZJ) and Cherokees (XJ) 1987-On and Dakotas 1997-On and Durango 1988-On? If so do you know where I can buy at a reasonable price? I know this is alot to ask but salvage yards seem to be as confused as I and I'm at my wits end. I only become more confused the more I research it. Please help if you can as it would be VERY MUCH APPRECIATED. THANKS!

My husband says he can take it over to the auto-school at the University and have them fix the frame cheap. He also said he can get the bumper at a salvage yard for cheap. (We know the owner of the yard and have gotten stuff there before.) Anyway, a new bumper is about $225.

Should we take the deal? I have a 1996 Dodge Neon and my husband says we can at least use it for parts.

lambertjason asked:

I have to do a few repairs on my 2001 Dodge 1500 4×4, like hub bearings and axel bearings. When checking part prices I found that prices for 00-01 are about $70 HIGHER for hub bearings than 98-98. A guy I know that runs an auto salvage yard tells me they are the same part. He says I should buy the 98-99 part because the parts dealers are just trying to make more money off parts for newer model vehicles. Now, normally I would think a salvage yard was trying to dupe me if they told me something like that but he didn't try to get me to buy a part from him, just told me to go ahead and buy the older model parts. Does anyone know if this information is accurate?

M A H asked:

I have recently damaged my driver side door on my 98 dodge durango, we are in need of a complete new door, however the local salvage yards dont have one, however they as well as the auto body shop says that they can order one……….WHERE are they ordering them from? If you google doors, or ebay ect, all you really find are the interior panels, mirriors and handles. Does anyone know where you would look to find out how to order a door myself?
